Mobilize Now!

Join the Movement to PROTECT CIVILIZATION

The Climate Year

The Climate Mobilization and allies are developing a strategy to ensure that the U.S. federal government commences a WWII-scale climate mobilization by July 4, 2017 — less than one year from today.

To accomplish this necessary aim, we need to start scaling up our organizing and central operations now.

Participants in the Climate Year program will commit to volunteering for The Climate Mobilization 30+ hours per week for one year. We are looking for brilliant, talented, dedicated people who want to fight for civilization and the natural world.

Climate Year participants will take on significant leadership responsibilities, enjoy considerable autonomy, and continually push the limits of what they imagined possible.

Climate Year can be completed anywhere– you will either be organizing in your community or largely working online and over the phone.

We are looking for heroes. We hope you join us.

Allies, we are thrilled to announce our Climate Year program.

As part of our new strategy to ensure that the U.S. federal government launches a WWII-scale climate mobilization by July 4, 2017, to restore a safe climate, we are looking for brilliant, talented, dedicated people who want to fight for civilization and the natural world on a full-time basis.

Participants will commit to volunteering 30+ hours per week for one year, taking on significant leadership responsibilities, enjoy considerable autonomy, and continually pushing the limits of what they imagined possible.

We already have highly dedicated volunteers making full-time commitments (read their impressive stories on the Climate Year website). But we need a lot more brilliant, passionate volunteers very soon if we are going to take TCM to the next level and ensure that there is a climate emergency super-summit that charts a course toward solving the climate crisis in the first 100 days of the next administration early next year.

The Climate Year program, on its own, cannot deliver a WWII-scale mobilization by next year. It is one part of a much larger effort that is just now taking shape. We are working with Russell Greene—who helped get mobilization onto the Democratic Party platform in July—to develop a broader umbrella strategy to exponentially grow our movement and get the mobilization started next year.

We are looking for outstanding people ready to dedicate a year of their lives for “all years.” We aim to enlist people from all backgrounds, walks of life, and U.S. regions. We truly need all hands on deck: People of color, of all faiths, of all ages, of all political persuasions, from all sectors (including the fossil fuel industry), women, LGBTQIA, persons with disabilities, and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply!

If you can’t afford to volunteer 30 hours a week, but feel called to mobilize, please let us know by applying what level of assistance you would need in order to participate in Climate Year. We will do our best to meet financial need. (See more information on the site)

Please apply or encourage the most talented, energetic, dedicated people you know to apply for Climate Year. And if you can afford it, please make sure to support us with a donation so we can provide financial assistance.

And make sure to share the news of Climate Year far and wide!

Sincerely,

Margaret Klein Salamon, Nicole Harris, Ezra Silk, and the ever expanding TCM team!
